The Restorer by Sharon Hinck

[The Restorer by Sharon Hinck]

The idea of a mom going to another world and fighting battles in a fantasy world intrigued me to no end. So when I heard about this book..I snapped at the chance to read it! I’ve long read stories about teens going to other worlds and warring, but a MOM!? Well Sharon Hincks constructed a masterpiece in this book. It rings true character, plot, and locationwise. The political positioning is so real it’s almost frightening, and Susan’s reactions echo what I  wonder my own mother would do! The internal conflict and dangers as well as external really add extra depth to the book, as well as the singing and reciting of “The verses” an impressive use of Biblical information without it feeling like you’re reading a verse. The strange and interesting mix of technology and ancient times lends an almost whimsical air to the story and brings yet another angle to look at the books from. All in all, I’d recommend this book to anyone!

I really enjoyed the book and the spiritual themes about God were refreshing and encouraging. Thanks Mrs. Hinck!
